Perez gets a serve of (black-eyed) Peas...

So, I was casting half an eye over Twitter last night while feeding the girls, and a series of strange tweets come through from Perez Hilton. One reads "I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke."

'Is he kidding?' I think. 'Surely it would be better to call 911 than hope the police have a Twitter Response Unit...' Subsequent tweets reveal Perez had indeed been bashed by one of the band's entourage, had called police, and turned to twitter when help did not arrive. You can watch his (incredibly long) statement by clicking on the image above.

I agree with Perez that violence is never ok but, really, isn't he being incredibly naive? He spews forth vitriol on a daily basis...he personally attacks celebrities without giving it another thought...I'm personally surprised this is the first time it's happened in five years.

No, it's not ok to hit someone...but I also think it's wrong to bully someone emotionally. Rumer Willis, Jennifer Anison, Kirsten Dunst, and the many other women in the long list that Perez seems to have a personal vendetta against may not bear black eyes, but I'll bet anything they carry scars from his scathing posts. Does the mere fact that Perez was attacked with a fist - and not words - somehow make this more serious?

Oh, for fuck's sake. I've just watched his statement. No, violence is never the answer. But he's not exactly helpin his own case here. Going through the posts about Fergie on his blog, I don't think I saw him say a single positive thing about her (although, he doesn't attack her like he does, say, Rumer Willis), or the band, really. She, and by extension, Will.I.Am have a right to be pissed off with him. I would have a LOT more sympathy for him if, when they'd actually talked to him about it, he'd acted like a civil human being, instead of acting like a 3 year old, and going out of his way to say something that he KNEW was going to get people even more riled up. No, he shouldn't have been attacked. But he shouldn't have been acting like a toddler, either.

Violence is never the answer, but the exception proves the rule, and Perez Arsehole Hilton is the exception. I'd smack him myself.

I would have held him down so Fergie could stab him in the eye with her stiletto.

When he can contribute something useful to the world, other than riding on the coat tails and leftovers from celebrities, then he may gain some sort of respect. Until then he's a parasite.

I have to say I have never undertood the whole perez hilton thing - I mean, don't get me wrong - I tried - but I just don't find what he says witty, intellgent or interesting.

What I do find interesting though, is that the other night while home alone(with toddler) in bed I heard a strange noise. My phone was in the living room (due to people tending to call my at ungodly early hours) and I only had my ipod (which has connectivity). I wondered what would happen if someone entered the house - would I put a SOS out on twitter - would anyone respond? Would I share my address - what would the consequences be compared to being robbed/attacked? What would I do if I saw a message like that (not from a celebrity) would I respond? How would I respond? Nevertheless, the next night I put the mobile phone on my bedside table, early morning calls and all :)

ACTing mama, I heard from some security-conscious email that we should all try and have a phone by our bedside table.

We can always put it on silent to avoid early wakeup calls, but it's always on hand to ring in an emergency.

I also heard that if you say aloud (to the noise, or suspected burglar) I've already called the police, they'll be so scared they'll RUN like the wind.

He's a bottom feeder, a bully and I hate him. I can't believe no one has smacked him out before now either. I bet Demi Moore and Bruce Willis want to punch him out too - here's hoping!

Yep, sorry buddy but you had this coming.

I wish I could have smacked him myself, eeoooh poor Perez - who could imagine a retaliation to a potty mouthed diatribe like that? He's a little low on the ole IQ points that one.

Do you think he'll learn to shut his gargantuan mouth now? Nahhhh.

No sympathy from over here!

I think Perez had gotten so used to being able to fire barbs from behind the shield of his website that he forgets it's not protection from the real world.

Will this incident signal a new, nicer Perez? I'm not holding my breath...

Personally, I can't stand the guy. I'd whack him over the head with a saucepan. I know violence isn't good, but neither's he.
