Turns out uggs aren't just for dagging around in at home...or so says Mollini. Their new "Denote" is a take on the classic Australian icon and comes in "sumptuous beige suede".
Honestly, they can make them sound good enough to eat, but I'm not gonna pay nearly $200 for something I don't dare wear in public (even with the funky "soft and slouchy shaft")...plus, I'm still scarred by Pamela Anderson's uggs and cossy combo.

i own a pair of ugg boots - they are billabong brand [coming from the coast mostly surf stores] and iv had them since year 10. paid $115 for them too! love them but they blend in as "boots" easier and people tend not to notice they are ugg boots :)
For the record, I love my uggs, too...but the last time I wore them out in public (to the park right next to our house) my husband never let me live it down.
If you've been lucky enough to find a pair comfy and cool enough to wear as fashion, more power to you!
I love ugg boots and put mine on as soon as I get home from work in winter (along with the trackie daks of course) and the only place i would wear them in public is to get some milk from the servo down the road. And even then it's under jeans so you can't really tell! I wear mine so often I wear away all the wool on the sole and have to replace them every 2 years! but that's what you get when they only cost $40!
And I agree about Pam Anderson adn the swimmers-ugg combo...so wrong in so many ways!
Mmmmmm...never been a fan.
You mean uggs AREN'T slippers that are designed for wearing out of the house? I missed that memo - the only place I haven't worn mine is to work, and that's only cause they won't let me.
Ahh, the old uggs-and-swimsuit combo. Never has anything made less sense...
That said, I am dreaming about a pair of uggs for schlepping purposes only. My Explorer socks are getting too 'ball-y'.
I've never been a fan....
However, for some reason known only to my inner self (the deep inner I can't even access!) I've requested an expensive pair for my birthday... I think it's that the idea of changing out of warm shoes in the house to go to the vegie shop or pick up dinner just doesn't appeal to me any more!
No no no no NO. Uggs are never to be worn out of the house! I have a pair that I love (Peter Alexander - so comfy!), but they are for indoor use only. I would feel the need to don a flannie with a packet of Winnie Blues shoved in the pocket if I wore them to the shops.
Noooo! I am with you, uggs are homewear only! Mollini are wrong.
For the first time ever I must disagree with you, my darling BM. Those Mollini ones look WAY cool. I'd wear them with jeans and a trench, or layered T's, or whatever. If I could afford them, of course. Which I can. F'ing GFC...
