sayonara, so long, adieu, adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen, bye

This morning I sat down at my computer to blog and I couldn't think of a thing to say. That's been increasingly the case over the last month or two...it appears, sadly, I've lost the will to blog.

Life is busy, busy these days. I've started to take on a bit more work (one of my current projects is setting up a website for my business www.barecommunications.com.au - nothing there yet, but soon will be!), have a few voluntary roles on the go, as well as the usual demands of motherhood. And I figure that when something I began for the sheer enjoyment (this blog) starts to feel like an obligation, it's time to ask why I'm doing it...so, I'm taking a break.

I want to thank you, dear readers, for coming along on this ride and sharing your opinions along the way. I have absolutely loved sharing a little bit of myself with you and I honestly would have gone a little bit barmy over the last six months if not for you. And who knows? I could be back in a month...or a year...or maybe not at all.

Take care...and if you want to keep in touch, you can always find me on twitter (@bugmum) or drop me a line at domesticgoddessonlplates@gmail.com

Oh terribly sad that your blog is taking a recess (I refuse to believe you will give it up for good!) but I completely understand what you are going through. I hope your creative motivation returns in whatever avenues you pursue! Good luck with the business and I am glad you haven't thrown in the twitter towel yet - then I would be really devastated!

I'll miss your blog but I understand completely! Blogging can be a right chore.

I'll see you round the twitter and mamamia xxxx

Ditto ditto ditto! Your blog was the 1st blog I ever read! So I'm sad to see it go into recess, but COMPLETELY understand why.

Lots of Love,

Oh high five to you for starting up something - how brilliant for you, Bugmum.

I don't Tweet and only post sometimes on MMia these days, but no doubt will see you about there.

You've done a great job Amanda, a well written, warm, positive blog.

Best of luck with the new endeavours.

Just wondering, (as i have a very boring little blog of family happenings for the interstate relos), is there a way to safely archive or print out your own blogs history?

As mine is a kind of family "diary" I would like to keep a "hard copy" of it.....

Does anyone know if this is easy to do?

Twitter-ing killed the blog-gio star? :)

No, I know how you feel - over 4yrs my blog has really gone from family chit-chat and catch-up, to worrying about posting pics of my kids, to now being almost a promotion vehicle for my photography.

It's hard to know what's good and what's write/right, so you've just got to go with your gut .. speaking of which, i'm going to bake those brownies for MG this week .. :)

Have a great break, and I hope to see you back posting again, too. I've felt the same way lately, too, so I completely understand.

Hi Amanda,

I'm not at all sad for you as I know exactly how you feel, you know I've been itching to the same for a loooong time, but I feel like it's an obligation... think I'll hang in 'til the 2 year blogiversary! If I can make it!?

Thankyou for sharing the parts of you we have seen...
Be free, enjoy the things that are really important,
